The Grandiose Mallet

The Grandiose wood mallet, made from Purple Heart and White Oak.  It's unique design allows for one side of the hammer to be used parallel to the handle, or flip it over and have a slightly bent hammer.

Framed Box

This box is made from Walnut and quilted Maple.  It is constructed with the idea that each side of Maple is framed and slightly recessed.  This box looks the same on the inside as on the outside.

Sliding Lid

The sliding-lid box is also made from reclaimed pallet wood and mahogany.

The lid stays closes with magnets, making a unique feel.  It is finished with 3 coats of teak oil, bringing out the rich amber withing the quilted sections.

This box is simple, sturdy and elegant and without the use of hinges.

Box from Reclaimed Wood

San - A simple box made salvaged wood.  When I worked in a warehouse many pallets would drift by, knowing what to look for I was able to scavenge the rare exotic woods that had escaped the eyes of others.

Two different types of pallet wood are used in this box, my best guess is the dark wood being Teak and the light White Maple.  The inlay on the lid symbolizes a dichotomy, it is butterflied and flipped to show a similar yet opposite relationship.

The hinges are made out of wood, with nail pins.  The back of the lid is slightly raised for clearance.  Making beautiful objects out of what others see as waste has profound meaning to me.  This box was a great lesson in crafting a functional lid.
